Riding through the Natural Park of the Po Delta – Bevanella

Milano Marittima is the Glam capital  by the sea, but that’s not all it has to offer. The nature surroundingit is well worth a visit. The park of the Po Delta stretches up to the Saline of Cervia and the reserve of Bevanella.

Have you ever visited a beautiful park on horseback?

The parks of Bevano, Ortazzo, Bevanella Ortazzino and Pineta of Classe can be visited in many ways , one of the most original and unforgettable is undoubtedly riding. No need to be an experienced horserider to do this: some basis of walk and trot will be more than enough

Is it far from Milano Marittima?

Of course not! Leaving from Hotel Majestic and Solemare you can reach Valentini Riding School in Lido di Classe. The travel takes circa 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes by bike. Booking a few days before is recommended.

There is no need for any special equipment, sneakers, long socks and preferably resistant trousers are all the items that shouldn’t be forgot.

What should I bring with me?

Get a small pouch to put the items that you choose to take with you. A tip: do not bring along your camera, taking pictures while  riding a horse is dangerous. Photographers and birdwatchers wishing to bring home nice pictures will find it easier by choosing the walks organized by the Cooperative Atlantide. Mosquito-repellents are also a good choice.

Ok, I’m ready. The walk begins!

Enter the stables, where the instructors will choose the horse best suited to your level. As soon as all the horses are saddled and mounted, the ride will start. The walk, lasting about two hours, provides different routes depending on the season. The journey takes place in a private pine forest that reaches the mouth of river Bevano, while the return path changes depending on the season, following the beach or moving through another path in the pine forest.

All these routes wind through scenic areas, and during the walk you might spot deers and other wildlife. The routes move through a forest typical of our latitudes, full of flowers in spring and of bright colors in the fall, with a bustle of stantial and migratory birds.

Are there are other activities?

The ride happens in a relaxed and playful mood, and besides of admiring  nature you’ll get the chance of meeting new friends and learn more about the world of horses. If you prefer to start with something easier, the riding school also organizes shorter walks, for example along the beach of Classe (during spring and autumn) and along the bends of  river Savio.
